One resource worth looking at is the old IGI page at http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp<br /><br />I have just checked and it is still there. Do a broad search on the STEERS surname in the British Isles, there are lots of hits! Download the names at no more than 25 at a time keeping a paper check on where you are up to, then you can always go back another time.<br /><br />You will end up with loads of Gedcom files. Use the program LDS Companion (http://www.archersoftware.co.uk/ldsc01.htm) to convert these files into excel.<br /><br />No one has registered my name yet!
